The man was arrested today in Hoppers Crossing and has since been charged with aggravated criminal trespass, false imprisonment, common law assault and robbery.

The charges relate to an alleged aggravated burglary which occurred at a house on Beckett Road in Donvale on June 29 last year.

During that incident, a 65-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man were allegedly assaulted, threatened at knifepoint and tied up during the robbery.

Police allege several high-end jewelry and watches were stolen, including an Omega Seamaster Dynamic watch.

Detectives believe other people were involved in the incident and said the investigation remains ongoing.

The 23-year-old will appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
