WABASH COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) – Police are investigating a crash involving a train and a truck in Wabash County that occurred Thursday night, Pleasant Township Fire Rescue says.

Authorities say they were dispatched to the area north of 1400N and 200W just before 5 pm on Thursday, April 25, after receiving reports of a “vehicle accident and fire with possible entrapment near the tracks.”

According to fire rescue officials, first responders were able to remove two people from the truck and at the same time combat the fire that occurred as a result of the accident within minutes.

Authorities say one of the individuals was flown to a nearby hospital and the other in an ambulance. The extent of the injuries suffered is not known at this time.
