Rite Aid will close 16 more stores, including 4 in Pennsylvania.

Pharmacy chain Rite Aid plans to close 16 more stores, including four in Pennsylvania.

Stores are located in Schuylkill, Philadelphia, Wayne and Lehigh counties.

In a bankruptcy filing earlier this week, Rite Aid said it plans to close the following stores in Pennsylvania:

  • 500 N. Claude Lord Blvd., Pottsville, Schuylkill County
  • 4055-89 Market St. in Philadelphia
  • 237 E. Lancaster Ave., Radnor Township, Delaware County, near Wayne
  • 1650 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, near Allentown

Rite Aid News

Rite Aid, which was based in East Pennsboro Township near Camp Hill for decades and is now based in Philadelphia, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October to begin restructuring and significantly reduce its debt.

Since October, the company has announced in bankruptcy filings the closure of more than 400 stores.
