* WHAT… West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 to 55 mph
expected.

* WHERE… Imperial Valley, Western Imperial County, Salton Sea,
Southeast Imperial County, western Joshua Tree
National Park.

* WHEN…For the first wind warning, starting at 5 pm this afternoon
at 3 a.m. PDT on Thursday. For the second Wind Warning, starting at 2:00 p.m.
Friday until midnight PDT on Friday night.

* IMPACTS…Difficult driving conditions, especially for larger vehicles.
Vehicles traveling on roads with crosswinds. Light, unsafe
Objects can fly through the air. Possible minor damage to tree. Areas
blowing dust or sand will sometimes cause a reduction
visibilities for additional danger to motorists.
A wind advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between
30 to 40 mph, or wind gusts between 40 and
58mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles. Also, strong winds over the desert
areas could result in visibilities briefly reduced to well below
a mile sometimes with wind of dust or sand. Use extra
caution.
